Handmade Story Bracelet
This unique bracelet is more than an accessory, it’s a collection of stories gathered from around the world. Each bead carries its own history. Rwandan beads, rolled from recycled magazine pages, represent resilience and resourcefulness. “Navajo pearls,” crafted from sterling silver, add strength and beauty. African trade beads, originally made in Venice and carried across continents, speak to centuries of cultural exchange. There are elements of carved bone, Arizona turquoise, and Thai silver woven throughout. Every bead complements the next, with different origins, textures, and traditions.
That’s what I love most about this piece. Individually, each bead has meaning. Together, they tell a richer story. Wear it as a reminder that beauty is often found in the coming together of many journeys.
Length: 8.25”
Handmade Jewelry by Shannon Smith
For over 20 years, I’ve collected beads and stones from around the world, found in hidden bead shops, markets, antique stores, and gem shows. Each piece carries a story, and in my home beading studio, I bring those stories to life.
